VERBALIZATION OF THE CONCEPT “EARTH” IN OLES HONCHAR’S PUBLICISTIC DISCOURSE

Abstract

The article analyzes the concept of «earth» in Oles Honchar’s publicistic discourse, identifies its features of expression and semantic significance, and reveals its lingual-mental characteristics – earth’s crust, soil, planet, country, land, state. The writer’s publicistic works are characterized not only as a factor in shaping public opinion but also as an important source of intellectual reflections that mirrors the state of social development and its prospects. The concept of «earth» is considered on the level of deep meaning within the system of verbalized artistic devices realized in the specific contextual conditions.The study focuses on the artistic model of the world, which serves as a means of representing Oles Honchar as a writer-publicist, a bearer of an elite linguistic personality type, revealing his worldview orientations, emotional and sensory sphere, and mood dominants associated with the concept of «native land». It is emphasized that the writer’s publicistic works, marked by a distinct authorial identity, an original communicative strategy, and unique mechanisms of interpreting socially significant issues, constitute a powerful discursive tool for understanding social life.Substantive-attribute constructions with the core component «earth» are considered in the projection of nationally determined Ukrainian cultural realities. The identified nuclear elements of the cognitive base of the national linguocultural community in Honchar’s publicistic discourse both concentrate knowledge about representative facts and serve as models ensuring the further transmission and dissemination of established meanings.It is established that the publicist uses them as verbal signals that actualize collective experience, integrate individual observations, represent his civic stance, and define value priorities. It is proved that the concept of «earth» in Oles Honchar’s publicistic discourse constitutes an inexhaustible source of artistic thinking, symbolizes the Homeland, and creats a special sacred space that simultaneously blesses and tests human resilience.
