DIGITALIZATION OF CHORAL ACTIVITY

Abstract

The article provides a comprehensive theoretical and practical study of the transformation of choral performance in the context of modern digitalization. It is substantiated that the integration of information technologies into traditional choral practice is not merely a technical update but a global shift in the entire creative ecosystem of «conductor – chorister – listener.» The study analyzes the transition from paper scores to digital media, specifically the use of tablets and specialized software, which optimizes rehearsal time, ensures the mobility of ensembles, and improves the quality of working with musical notation through intelligent marking and annotation layers. Special attention is paid to innovative rehearsal methods. The role of personal training tools, «minus-one» scores, and mobile applications for intonation control is examined, as they transform the vocalist into an active participant in the educational process, significantly increasing the efficiency of group sessions. The phenomenon of virtual choirs and remote music-making is explored as a means of overcoming geographical isolation and as a tool for inclusion, which is particularly relevant for preserving Ukrainian cultural identity in crisis conditions. A separate section is dedicated to the popularization of choral art through digital channels: social media, streaming platforms, and interactive concert formats using QR codes and 3D mapping. It is proved that digitalization does not diminish academic traditions but, on the contrary, removes the barrier of «elitism,» making choral music a part of the modern media space. Further research may be directed toward studying the psychological aspects of collective creativity in a virtual environment and analyzing the transformation of the emotional connection between choir members in the absence of direct physical presence.
