READING MUSICAL NOTES FROM A SHEET OF PAPER AS AN IMPORTANT COMPONENT OF THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF A FUTURE MUSIC TEACHER

Abstract

The article explores the problems of developing skills in reading musical works from a sheet of paper. These skills are important in the professional development of future music teachers. We consider the process of reading music in individual music lessons in piano and choral conducting. This involves vision, hearing, reaction speed, psychological and mental aspects, and the ability to see a musical piece in advance. The process of reading sheet music always arouses a desire to learn new musical material. An important role in the development of skills in reading music from a sheet of paper is played by the accuracy of coordination memory, when the performer plays without looking at the keyboard, imagines it and reproduces any fragment of a musical work without stopping.To acquire visual perception of musical text, it is worth learning to quickly navigate the musical text, carefully look at the work itself without an instrument (you can mentally conduct and sing it), familiarize yourself with its individual elements, identify difficulties that may arise when playing a musical work, and pay attention to the bar lines. When reading music, it is positive to use a heuristic method that involves students in independent creative activity. The essence of this method is that under the guidance of a teacher, the student takes a direct part in finding creative solutions to problematic issues.The article also presents the final result of the creation of the work, where the performer together with the composer demonstrate the creative process in mastering the musical text. The acquired skills allowed the performer not only to get acquainted with the diverse music of modern Ukrainian composers, but also to develop the need to study new, original, unusual sounds.
