ACADEMIC CULTURE AND INTEGRITY IN THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS AT THE FACULTY OF ARCHITECTURE OF KYIV NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF CONSTRUCTION AND ARCHITECTURE IN THE CONDITIONS OF WARTIME REALITIES

Abstract

The article examines the issue of academic culture and integrity in the educational process at the Faculty of Architecture of the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture in the conditions of wartime realities. The authors found that academic culture at the faculty is usually at a high level, but in wartime, some students and teachers may violate moral standards, which can negatively affect the quality of education and scientific activity. The article examines academic culture as a spontaneous order arising from the interaction and behaviour of members of the academic community, as well as various aspects of academic culture, such as ethics, morality, honesty, responsibility, discipline, and others. The authors also proposed a number of recommendations for ensuring a high level of academic culture and integrity at the faculty, in particular, creating favourable conditions for the development of academic culture, conducting training and exams using modern technologies, organizing teacher training on issues of academic culture and integrity. In general, the article makes a valuable contribution to the study of the problems of academic culture and integrity at the Faculty of Architecture of the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture and can be useful for teachers, students and researchers working in the field of higher education. The authors analyze the results of the student survey to determine the level of development of academic culture and integrity among the participants of the educational process. According to the data obtained, students believe that academic culture and integrity are of key importance for the quality training of specialists in the field of architecture, design and art. The authors of the article emphasize the importance of building trusting relationships between students and teachers, promoting the development of ethical standards, and ensuring an open dialogue in the educational process. Studies have shown that a lack of integrity and a low level of academic culture can lead to a deterioration in the quality of teaching, a loss of trust in teachers and a decrease in student motivation. The authors of the article conclude that increasing the level of academic culture and integrity in the educational process is an important component for ensuring high quality training of future architects, designers and artists.
