ISSUES OF DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY IN THE WORKS OF REPRESENTATIVES OF PSYCHOLOGICAL THOUGHT IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS OF UKRAINE IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE FIRST HALF OF THE ХІХ CENTURY

Abstract

The article presents the results of theoretical analysis of issues of developmental psychology and popularization of this knowledge by representatives of domestic psychology of the first half of the 19th century - representatives of the teaching staff of Lviv and Kharkiv universities, St. Volodymyr University of Kyiv and other domestic educational institutions. The article presents an analysis of the scientific heritage on issues of developmental psychology of the teacher of philosophy at Lviv University P. D. Lodiy (1758–1834), master of philosophy, teacher of the Slobodsk-Ukrainian Gymnasium, representative of university psychological thought at Kharkiv University P. M. Lyubovsky (years of life unknown), representatives of the teaching corporation of the University of St. Volodymyr in Kyiv: I. M. Skvortsov (1795–1863), V. M. Karpov (1798–1867), O. M. Novytsky (1806–1884), P. S. Avsenyev (1810–1852), S. S. Gogotsky (1813–1889). As a result of the analysis of scientific works on psychological topics by the mentioned representatives of psychological thought of the first half of the 19th century, it was determined that psychological ideas on issues of psychological development of the personality contain personal philosophical constructs of researchers of human mental life, which were based on contemporary philosophical systems, and have a certain practical orientation. Psychological ideas of representatives of philosophical thought of the first half of the 19th century, printed academic manuals and works on psychological problems in periodicals of that time are a contribution to the development of psychological culture of the population of Ukraine of the 19th century. An understanding of the meaning and tasks of psychology in the structural components of contemporary philosophical knowledge is presented, and the importance of empirical methods of cognition of manifestations of human mental life is proven. The article presents issues of developmental psychology and educational activities of representatives of the teaching staff of educational institutions of Ukraine in the first half of the 19th century: publication of textbooks for courses in philosophy and logic that contained psychological knowledge and textbooks on psychology, holding public lectures for a wide audience, publications of psychological content in periodicals of that time.
