The article is devoted to consideration of the problems of organizing and conducting rehearsals with orchestras of various levels of training (professional, student, children's ensembles). Conductors who strive to achieve high results carefully prepare for each rehearsal. A well-created plan, correctly set goals and objectives organize and direct the actions of the leader of any musical group. Each conductor of the orchestra must meet the basic requirements – this is a thorough knowledge of musical material (scores) and professional mastery of manual techniques. To organize and hold the planned rehearsals, team leaders spend a lot of time selecting the appropriate repertoire; familiarization with the score of each work; the study of information regarding the prerequisites for creating compositions, biographical data of composers and other important factors for the formation and interpretation of the idea of each work. In this way, the conductor acquires the necessary knowledge to implement his plan, goal and tasks at each rehearsal with a professional, student or children's ensemble. Attention is paid to the important stages of the conductor's preparation for organizing and conducting rehearsals with the orchestra. Eleven stages were considered, at each of which the conductor explored valuable historical information and biographical data of the composers, compositional style, vertical and horizontal study of the scores, analyzing the sheet music, fixing certain cues (clues) in the scores, etc. It was determined that it is possible to achieve a high level of performance from musical groups if the conductor sets much higher goals and tasks for himself than for the orchestra. A well-developed plan of action at rehearsals is a great help in solving any potential problems. Discipline, a creative atmosphere, a clear plan of action, a well-chosen repertoire, correctly and appropriately applied directives, clear manual technique are effective “tools” of every conductor for organizing and conducting orchestral rehearsals.
