Abstract

The aim of the work is to investigate the evolution of musical and choreographic performance of the second half of the XX century through the prism of its transformation processes, caused by the interaction of various artistic traditions, experimental searches in the field of performing arts and shifts in the socio-cultural context. The research methodology includes the historical-analytical method, methods of comparative analysis, culturological and art-historical approaches, which allows us to trace the dynamics of changes in musical and choreographic performance of the specified period. The scientific novelty lies in identifying the key trends in the transformation of musical and choreographic performance of the second half of the XX century under the influence of socio-cultural and artistic factors. For the first time, the relationship between the expansion of choreographic language, the use of multimedia technologies and interactive approaches in performance and their influence on the formation of modern performative culture has been systematized. Research results. The key directions of development of musical and choreographic performance of the second half of the XX century are considered, in particular, experimental practices based on the ideas of improvisation, randomness, interdisciplinary approach and conceptual synthesis. Special attention is paid to the practices of famous choreographers and composers, such as Merce Cunningham, Trish Brown, Anna Halprin, John Cage, as well as the analysis of innovative works of the late XX – early XXI centuries. Conclusions. It was found that the transformation of musical and choreographic performance of the second half of the XX century was due to both intra-artistic processes and global socio-cultural shifts. The postmodernist artistic paradigm contributed to the expansion of choreographic and musical expressiveness, the integration of chance, improvisation and technology into the performing arts. The study shows that the musical and choreographic performance of this period became a field of interaction between the academic tradition, avant-garde experiments and new forms of theatrical action, which caused its further development in the direction of open artistic structures.
