Abstract

The article examines the work of the contemporary composer of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Valentyna Martyniuk – the oratorio-action "Thought about Ukraine". Music written in wartime is a witness that directly or symbolically and allegorically reproduces the complex realities of wartime. In today's war conditions, the issue of preserving Ukrainian national identity, consciousness, and the uniqueness of our culture is of paramount importance. Therefore, the relevance of the study lies in the fixation and analysis of the social and historical phenomenon of Ukrainian choral music today, as a tool for the accumulation, transformation and relay of the socio-cultural experience of the most dramatic period in the history of modern Ukraine. The cycle, created for children's, women's and mixed choirs, instrumentalensemble (bandura, flute, clarinet, Turkish saz, horn and percussion instruments), folk voice and reader, is analyzed from the pointof view of the formation and preservation of collective memory of Russian military aggression, the features of the compositional structure and the original innovative interpretation of the oratorio genre. The focus is on the organic synthesis of various types of art: music, poetry, painting, theater, and video editing. After all, all the artistic components of the oratorio-action "Thought about Ukraine" organically interact with each other, helping to more holistically, deeply, emotionally, meaningfully and sensually recreate the figurative dramaturgy of the work.Special attention in the analysis of the work is paid to the national component: intonation reliance on Ukrainian folk song sources, folklore-specific component, introduction of the folk female voice into the academic score, episodes of combining sacred prayer discourse and discourse of ethnospace, metro-rhythmic formulas of national vocal-instrumental genres, which are integrated into modern, new forms of choral writing. The masterful combination of the categories of academic and folk performance is explored in various ways: from the point of view of combining academic and folk vocals, the synthesis of academic and folk instrumental timbres, authorial and folk poetic texts, and the interweaving of modern and folklore musical genres. The deep national-patriotic idea of the work and the means of its embodiment in musical language deserve special attention. Three main parts of the dramaturgy of the oratorio-action are considered: the first section – "Peaceful Ukraine", the second section – "Enemy Invasion", the finale – "Victory".
