Abstract

In the article, an analysis of theoretical approaches to the mental health of youth with intellectual disabilities is conducted. The main concepts and models that identify the factors influencing the mental health of this category of youth are examined. Special attention is given to innovative strategies and interventions aimed at supporting emotional and social well-being. The role of emotional intelligence and social adaptation in forming a positive mental state is described, highlighting their importance in the overall development and integration of these young people into society. Additionally, the article discusses the necessity of a comprehensive approach that includes multidisciplinary knowledge from psychology, pedagogy, social work, and medicine. The analysis aims to provide a holistic understanding of the unique challenges faced by this group and proposes integrated solutions for improving their mental health and quality of life. The article examines theoretical approaches to the mental health of youth with intellectual disabilities, focusing on key concepts and models that determine the factors affecting their mental health.
