MODIFIED PHRASEOLOGISMS AS AN EXAMPLE OF LANGUAGE CREATIVITY IN MODERN AUDIOVISUAL PRODUCTION FOR CHILDREN: BASED ON THE ANIMATED FILM “MAVKA. THE FOREST SONG”

Abstract

The article deals with the study of the specifics of using modified phraseological units as an example of language creativity in modern audiovisual production for children based on the animated film “Mavka. The Forest Song”. The relevance of the research is determined by the fact that the development of multimedia technologies and the spread of foreign content require the renewal of national cultural products. Animated films contribute to the popularization of the Ukrainian language and culture, forming a national identity, and this is true for the animated film “Mavka. The Forest Song”, which combines Ukrainian mythology with modern technologies. Language creativity in this animated film is manifested through modification of phraseological units, using occasionalisms, and slang, making the language lively and relevant. In addition, phraseological modifications in audiovisual products for children remain insufficiently studied in Ukrainian linguistics, which emphasizes the relevance of this study.The article defines the concept of language creativity, explores the possibilities of its manifestation in literary texts, characterizes modification of phraseological units as one of the manifestations of language creativity, and analyzes the use of modified phraseologisms in the animated film “Mavka. The Forest Song”.The conducted research demonstrates that modification of phraseological units is an important aspect of language creativity, as it updates traditional language structures giving them new semantic and stylistic shades. This is caused by extralinguistic factors and context, which makes such phraseological units more expressive. In literary texts, such modification enriches the language, creates new images and emotional effects, attracting the attention of the audience due to the originality of familiar expressions. The analysis of the characters’ speech in the animated film “Mavka. The Forest Song” reveals that modification of phraseological units is an important tool of language creativity in the film, making it attractive to young viewers. Modification of phraseological units in this animated film reflects the contrast between the worlds of people and nature, creating comic or emotionally expressive moments through changing the components of phraseological units, emphasizing the cultural differences between the characters and enriching the linguistic landscape of the animated film.
