GRAPPLING AS A SPORT AND EDUCATIONAL DISCIPLINE

The article explores the significance of grappling in the context of physical training and education for high school students. Grappling is considered an effective means of developing muscular strength, endurance, flexibility, and coordination, as well as a method for selfdefense and self-improvement. The study presents the results of an experimental program that showed significant improvements in participants' physical indicators after six months of training. Specifically, students who practiced grappling demonstrated increases in muscle strength, endurance, flexibility, and reaction speed. The research included a comprehensive approach to assessing the physical condition of students, using various tests and methodologies that provided objective data on the impact of grappling on the physical development of schoolchildren. The results indicate a substantial improvement in physical fitness across all major aspects, confirming the effectiveness of grappling as a means of physical education. The study also analyzes the impact of grappling on psychological aspects such as self-control, self-confidence, and stress resilience. Students who participated in the program reported improvements in their ability to control emotions, reduced levels of anxiety, and increased confidence in their abilities. Grappling contributed to the development of psychological resilience and self-discipline, which are important aspects of personal development. Based on the obtained data, practical recommendations were developed for integrating grappling into the educational program of secondary schools. It is recommended to incorporate grappling as a mandatory component of physical education, which will ensure the comprehensive physical and psychological development of students. Emphasis is placed on creating a positive atmosphere during training, ensuring safety, and adhering to methodological principles of teaching grappling. The training program includes a variety of exercises aimed at developing strength, endurance, flexibility, and coordination. Special attention is given to the technique of performing exercises and gradually increasing the load to prevent injuries. The program also includes regular competitions and control tests to assess students' progress. An important aspect is the preparation of teachers to conduct grappling classes. It is recommended to organize specialized advanced training courses for educators, which include theoretical and practical sessions on the methodology of teaching grappling. This will ensure a high level of instruction and the effectiveness of the training sessions. Thus, the implementation of grappling in the high school educational program will contribute not only to the physical but also to the psychological development of students, enhancing their self-esteem and stress resilience. Grappling can become a powerful tool for promoting a healthy lifestyle and the harmonious development of individuals.
