Abstract

The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the principles and priorities of EU sports policy, emphasizing the interconnection of sports with socio-economic, innovative, and health components. It examines initiatives and projects that promote sports and a healthy lifestyle and outlines the existing funding tools for sports projects in the EU. The advanced practices of EU countries in overcoming the crisis and the possibilities of overcoming it through the use of digital tools are considered, illustrating how external constraints have led to positive changes and innovations. The article highlights EU policy directions in the field of physical culture and sports by actively supporting and encouraging activities for children (including children with disabilities) to engage in physical activity to prevent health and development problems. Emphasis is placed on the importance of teaching motor skills, physical and sports activities in schools and sports organizations. The main priority areas for the development of EU sports policy are highlighted, including the opportunities of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet program and the association of sports pilot projects in higher education institutions in Ukraine and other social spheres. It has been noted that Ukraine systematically strives to establish interaction and learn from the experience of the EU, and actively participates in the proposed educational and health initiatives at all levels of state programs and social projects. The effectiveness of the current pilot projects associated with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine has been analyzed. In particular, the directions for the implementation of the Erasmus+ project 'Jean Monnet Module EUSport/EU Sport Policy' (2023-2026) at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University have been outlined. The article was prepared within the framework of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence project "Volyn Center for European Studies: Green and Safe Neighborhood" of the European Union's ERASMUS+ program (№101085647-VCES-ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH).
